Prioritize the Ceremony Itself: It's Why You're There

It is easy to spend months on decor and reception logistics and reach the ceremony having planned almost none of it. Give the ceremony content the same attention as the room. Write your own vows or rework traditional ones so the words are yours, and choose readings because they say something about your relationship rather than because they appear on every list. Brief your officiant properly, since someone who knows how you met and what you are like can personalise twenty minutes in a way a script cannot. You are also not bound to any element you do not want, from the processional order to who walks whom down the aisle. This is the part that changes something.
