Prioritize Comfortable, Statement Shoes

Wedding shoes have to survive a full day on your feet, much of it standing. Pick something you want to be photographed in, then make it wearable: break the shoes in over at least two weeks, wearing them for several hours at home on hard floors rather than carpet, so you find the pressure points while you can still do something about them. Bring a second pair for the reception, because flats or a lower heel let you stay on the dance floor instead of leaving it, and metallic or embellished flats read as a deliberate choice rather than a retreat. Check the surfaces you will walk on too, since grass, gravel, and cobbles defeat a stiletto heel indoors or not.
